Billy Jack Day, Kansas City (part 2)

When I said ‘blitzkreig’ advertising in part 1 of this post, I wasn’t kidding. Radio, TV, and newspapers were saturated with ads for the coming of Billy Jack. You very literally had to live under a rock not to know the film was coming. But Tom and his team weren’t done. They shuttled in the stars of the film who went on whirlwind appearances. Here is Julie Webb at some kind of tennis event (don’t know if the event had any other tie-in to Billy Jack other than Julie’s appearance). Interestingly, tennis great Alex Olmedo (’59 Wimbledon champion, and tennis pro at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel for 30 years) is there, which makes me suspicious this wasn’t a random tennis event. I think that may be Pancho Segura on the left as well.

Below is a picture of Julie being sworn in at a local ghost town.
