Continuing with our snapshots taken by Delores Taylor during the filming of Billy Jack Goes to Washington…
A few snaps of Tom directing. The first (immediately below) is on the set built on the stage of CBS Studio Center in Studio City, California (the same lot where Seinfeld and America’s Got Talent were shot). Tom and Delores built a scale replica of the entire U.S. Senate building. This area was the hallway around the senate chamber. It truly was an amazing replica down to the chairs and desks (I’ll dig up some wider shots and post them later).
The photos below were taken on the grounds of the Harold Lloyd estate in Beverly Hills, California. Harold Lloyd was a silent film star and built a virtual palace up one of the canyons. The estate featured incredible rooms and grounds, and here is serving as the governor’s mansion. Appearing in the film were Sam Wannamaker, E.G. Marshall, Sarah Purcell, Lucy Arnaz, Dick Gautier, and many, many more.
Chuck Wilborn was the sound man (the guy who records the sound) on BJGW.
hey not to worry, I’m a big fan of his work, he’s a wonderful character actor, he cracked me up in Irreconcilable Differences. I usually have to varify some people in pictures, when you have one eye to see out of, pictures online is not always easy to see. You peeps must be getting sick of me posting on pictures by now so I should cut back. I just love to see the behind the scenes stuff of my fave set of movies.
is that Sam Wanamaker in the second picture?
Yep. You made me worried I left him out of the picture caption.
