‘Billy Jack’ or Gap Ad - You Decide…

It’s amazing how fashion recycles. In the eighties and nineties the look of the kids in ‘Billy Jack’ was pretty dated. Tom made an effort to tone down most of the wardrobe to keep it from looking dated (I was always impressed by that move), nixing some wardrobe choices that would have been ‘stylish’ at the time, but wildly dated a decade or two later. But even with Tom’s wise move, fashions change. But now, as we approach the 40th anniversary, the ‘style’ in the film ‘Billy Jack’ is back in full force.

Which goes directly to my point for this post: Are these photos from a Gap ad, or from ‘Billy Jack’?

Tell me this doesn't look like it belongs in a Gap catalog. Gap? Are you listening?

Debbie Schock (Kit) looking as modern as today.

Just a bunch of kids in the desert... looking like they were styled from New York!

Debbie Schock (Kit) and Julie Webb (Barbara) compare notes on local Gap outlets (not).

I don't know who this young woman is, but I rest my case. Easy, casual, beautiful.

i love these pix! i commented before on this site that i wished girls and alotta the styles then were more common today (im a strict jeans and t shirt man, often bare foot), but now that i think of it, you’re right, frank! these pix DO look like ads in popular magazines today! with things like low rise boot cut jeans and more flare bottom style jeans everywhere, i guess i been too busy complaining to stop and look around! i really dig kits outfit in the ice cream store scene-i would so make her my girlfriend today! :D
