Delores Taylor on a press junket somewhere in the Midwest for Billy Jack. (I’m guessing east of the Mississippi because of the ‘W’ in the first letter of the stations call letters on the camera in photo #4). There are lots of photos. Delores did radio shows, TV shows, there was a luncheon, and some type of gift or award. (If any of you out there recognize any of the TV or radio folks, I’d appreciate your updating me.)
Update: I’ve found more pictures from this trip, and know that these various appearances where in and around Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.
But here’s what I can say for sure about these pictures: Small town girls are so demure.
WTCN (Channel 11) was probably located in Golden Valley, MN at the time (after 1973). It was sold to Gannett in 1983 and became WUSA, but in 1986 purchased WDVM-TV in Washington, D.C. and transferred those call letters to that station and changed channel 11′s call sign to the current KARE.
The photo with Delores in Mpls MN, & gentleman interviewer with brown jacket & tie, light color slacks was Bill Carlson, long time WCCO newscaster (Mpls has both K & W as begining call letters as it’s on the Mississippi)he died a few years ago from cancer, was married to Nancy Nelson of Infomercial fame, liberal radio talkshow host in Mpls, she was a friend of Roger Ebert. They lived in LA & “commuted” for a while.Frank (?) Hope your folks & family are well, God Bless, the Blanchards of Zimmerman MN, formerly of Mpls & Novato, CA (north of San Francisco)Please don’t post!
delores was never naive to fashion either!
@herbfinn: Not that we know of.
oh these are good shots.
I wonder if audio/video recordings of these interviews still exist?
