HURRY! Popcorn is Only 25¢!!

One of my favorite pictures from the era, not because everyone had to dress up in Billy Jack hats (beats the Hot Dog on a Stick outfits, I suppose) but because of the prices. Seriously, popcorn is 25¢, candy is 15¢ and 35¢ (presumably for the lap-size box). I actually remember tickets were a buck or less (for matinees). Can you imagine going on a date to the movies and having change for your $5?!?

Everyone clearly got the T-shirt memo, but the jokers on the right either stopped reading there or misunderstood that it was 'Derby' day.

Hats, T-shirts, posters... the multi-media onslaught (radio, print, TV) of the re-release of 'Billy Jack' in 1973 was so massive NO ONE didn't know the movie was playing when it rolled into town.
