Out-of-Control Town Council Original TV Commercial

Another one of the original TV commercials created for the re-release of ‘Billy Jack’ in 1973. We have 8 of these and will get them all posted here soon.

I don’t know the lineage of these versions of the commercials. They were on 16mm film, printed at 12 frames per second. My guess is that these were made as backups of the original commercials, or perhaps were shot from a TV screen. I can’t imagine these were the actual masters, but it was 1973. Technology and media delivery has changed so radically we can’t even conceive of the methods used today. This is back when video tape meant a giant 2″ tape machine that needed an engineer to run. So who knows… I mean that, literally.

If you have any info about how commercials were delivered in 1973, or know why they would be on a 16mm reel, would love to hear more in the comments below.
